Well… today is the day. A big game.
The day that preparation will show it’s true self. Tonight we play our biggest in state Big 12 rival… Kansas University.
Doubts are never far away.
- Were our last six consecutive conference wins a fluke?⠀
- Are we better than our biggest rival this year?⠀
- Have we prepared enough in the off season to make history?⠀
- Are these student athletes mentally ready for the battle tonight?
As a coach’s wife I’m able to sit behind the scenes and watch… I watch how my husband gets more antsy for big games. I watch how he finds things to occupy his time/mind on big game days… like bring me a quiche and coffee at 9:30am. Or go wash his car… or get his haircut.
He sits for hours at his laptop preparing…. Mentally keeping his head in the right state…. and his Cole Haan shoe game strong. Like real strong!
Basketball in our home.
This GAME we call our #ballLife is a BIG DEAL to our family right now. It’s why we live in Kansas. It’s how we’ve met incredible people and made new friendships. And it’s why we trust HIM above. Above all, this game has blessed us with countless opportunities to grow.
I don’t know the outcome for tonight’s big game… Vegas has the Cats winning by two. That is to say, however the bulbs show the ending score on that board at 10pm – we will celebrate the chance to play another game. To be at a school that LOVES and supports their SPORTS. Which as a coach’s wife is a HUGE deal to me.
Above all, thank you to all of you who have supported these Kansas State Wildcats from afar. You may never had known before there was a town called Manhattan, Kansas before finding and following me online. Most importantly, I feel your love and support every time I talk about my family, my husband and our Wildcat family.

2/5/19. Join me to cheer on these incredible God-loving athletes as we prepare to #BEATKU tonight on our home floor to a SOLD OUT crowd. I’ll be sitting behind the ESPN announcers in my purple jeans with my girls. They have their #doom capes all ready. 8pm cst.
